The old-school diner on Thurman Avenue — home of the Western Omelette and the best club sandwich in town. Line out the door, gnome at the bench, coffee already pouring.

The one on the sign — we're the home of it. Three eggs, folded and loaded, done the diner way.
Stacked, toasted, honest — and yes, that's our claim, right on the marquee.
The toast is the choice: white, wheat, sourdough, rye, or an English muffin. Add mushrooms, onions, cheese; make it yours.
Counter or booth, the cup stays full. Ask about today's specials, too.
“The first thing I hear walking in the door is ‘I've been thrown out of better places,’ a local yells to the owner of this family-owned treasure in the heart of Columbus.”
There's a thirty-minute wait, and for good reason. Talking to the locals, I'm told: if you're not here at 8, you wait. I don't mind — this is where the first cup of Sunday-morning Maxwell House starts my day. I ordered two eggs and toast, added mushrooms and onions to my cheesy eggs, and was offered, to my surprise, white, wheat, sourdough, rye, English muffins… I chose an English muffin, and I'm sure the waitress had more in the arsenal. Why would you waste $15 at Waffle House when there are places like German Village?
Regulars keep asking, so it's coming — German Village Coffee Shop merch, online. Wear the gnome, gift the gnome, keep a piece of Thurman Avenue on your shelf.
A photo and a line. It goes on the record as yours - not as the diner's, and not as a change to this page.
